The history of the Castle
The Castle is located in the heart of the multi-acre French park, surrounded by charming vineyards, mysterious forests and beautiful landscapes. Walking across the park by a babbling creek and a dolphin-shaped fountain, children can arrive to a playground equipped with swings, climbing frames, and a sandpit.
The beautiful, Art Nouveau style building’s specialty is the unique, carved furniture and the exceptional decor elements, all made by hand, including the silk embroidered pictures on the walls. The Castle provides a romantic atmosphere where aristocratic elegance and quality dominate. The interior areas are decorated with hand-carved furniture made of mahogany and rosewood. The first and second floor prevail different impression, moreover, the building doesn’t have two similar rooms, each of them is unique. The rooms on the second floor are decorated with hunting elements, original French wooden ceiling and oak wood parquet floor that create a truly romantic and intimate ambiance for our guests. The Tower Room with its French balcony is also located in this building, which served as the hunter lounge of Imre Fried at the beginning of the 20th century. He was storing here his weapon collection and his white piano that has been unfortunately transferred to a different location after the complete renovation of the building. In the lobby, in addition to the dragon-shaped statues, a marble fireplace provides a cozy atmosphere, where our guests can enjoy the drink and wine selection of the lobby-bar listening to the crackling fire.
The building has 9 double rooms, 4 triple rooms, and 2 suites, of which the last two are the most impressive rooms of the Fried Castle Hotel. All furniture and decor elements are made by hand: the silk embroidered pictures, the Persian carpets, and the silk wallpaper. From the balconies, guests can admire a stunning view of the courtyard and the French park.
Our restaurant, located close to the reception, offers traditional Hungarian as well as international specialties. In case of nice weather, guests can enjoy their meal sitting on the terrace, while admiring the magical environment of the surrounding park.
The lounge upstairs has an aristocratic atmosphere, as the massive elegantly-carved thrones provide the guests an elevated sentiment.
Although our Wellness-Fitness Centre is situated in Wing Lily, it can be easily accessed from the Castle through the covered and heated Orchid Passage, established between the two buildings. Thanks to this, our guests can comfortably walk to the wing in order to enjoy the relaxing baths, massages, saunas and aromatherapy cabins our hotel provides.
